About Me

Hi, my name is Christian Innerbichler, Chief Technology Officer at Complete Software Services and a software engineer specialising in PHP and Laravel based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom.

I would consider myself one of the lucky people in the world who has the opportunity to have a job that is also their hobby. I love to be able to create something new while being challenged at the same time and have the compulsion to learn something new whenever possible. Luckily being a software developer ticks all the boxes.

My biggest passion in life outside development is running and endurance sport, from road marathons to mountain ultra marathons. In 2026 I completed the Edinburgh Marathon in a chip time of 4:42:26, followed by the Mayrhofen Ultraks RK50 in Austria; a 51km mountain ultra with over 3,300m of elevation gain, which I finished in 10 hours 2 minutes. Insanely difficult, but the best experience I have ever had.

A Brief History

I am currently the Chief Technology Officer at Complete Software Services, leading the technical strategy, engineering culture and architectural vision for the company and its fintech platform, Divergent. Before that I spent more than a decade with MBL Solutions and Love2shop, starting as a Developer and progressing to Head of Development / Technical Lead, where I was principal engineer for Simfoni, Simfoni Retail, Inspired Deck and Chooza Gift. Following Love2shop's acquisition of MBL Solutions in 2022 I became a Solutions Architect, and later Solutions Architect / Product Owner, leading the architecture of Love2shop's core fintech ecosystem. Prior to working for MBL Solutions I worked for a medium-sized printing firm as Head of IT, Systems and Application Developer for B Print and Display and also spent 8 years working as a Reproduction Artist and Mac Operator dealing with specialist printing and large format digital printing for Sugarfayre Ltd.
